I was asked to make an arm patch for some colleagues of mine who are gonna walk the Nijmegen march in July. They are gonna wear these on their uniforms during the march.

They gave me total freedom to do whatever I wanted, as long as it showed they are Norwegian. I think I covered that pretty good :P On the left side you see the digital image I drew, and on the right is the sewn patch. The colors on the patch didn't come out exactly as I meant them to, but I guess they look okay.

It's very simply drawn since it was gonna be sewn with thread, and any details would be lost anyway.

Sketched and colored in Photoshop. About 3 hours spent on it.

Little info on the Nijmegen march from Wikipedia:

The International Four Day Marches Nijmegen (or Vierdaagse) is the largest marching event in the world. It is organised every year in Nijmegen in mid-July as a means of promoting sport and exercise. Participants walk 30, 40 or 50 kilometers daily, and, on completion, receive a royally approved medal (Vierdaagsekruis). The participants are mostly civilians, but there are also a few thousand military participants.

Hei. Skadar ikkje å spørje. Men kor mykje tok du betalt for å lage patchen? Skal gå Nijmegen i år også, som i fjor. Og vil gjerne få laga ein patch til det. Jobbar på Andøya Flystasjon til vanlig. Såg fleire som gikk Nijmegen i 2012, og var litt misunnelig på den flotte patchen

Hei. Takk for det :)

Jeg fikk ikke en eneste krone for denne jobben. Jeg fikk derimot betalt i form av en billett til velværeavdelingen på svømmehallen i Bodø :P

Jeg vet rett og slett ikke om jeg har tid til å lage en patch til dere før Nijmegen i år. Men hvis du har en idé som ikke tar meg for mye tid å lage, så kan vi sikkert bli enige om en pris.

:D Well done!! Sometimes the translation from paint (digital or not) to thread colour just misses; though I'm betting someone else opted for the change of the green.

Thanks Kate! Yeah, the green color is the most different one. The same happened on the last patch I made. I wanted the same green as we got then, so I used the same green as then :)
